Mi Bandera is a piece in which the performers travel through the color palette suggested by their flag. By re-signifying words such as memory, homeland, or festivity, they use their bodies and voices as translators of a flag that constantly changes its shape, color, and sense of belonging. Three women immerse themselves between tradition and contemporaneity, torn between the passion and repulsion that the flag provokes in them.
Mi Bandera is a sensorial and multidisciplinary piece that, through stage, visual, and musical language, seeks to (re)signify concepts, atmospheres, and situations from a shared imaginary: identity, folklore, ritual, life and death. It is the result of a collective creation process, based on the compilation of texts, bodily scores, and free versions of traditional songs such as the Salve Rociera, pasodobles, and other world music. At its core lies feminine energy as a driving force for resistance, creative power, and hope in confronting this flag.
The work begins by searching for the essence underlying specific popular expressions and, through processes of abstraction and opposition, it aims to discover a common ground where all these superimposed spheres can converge in a universal collective imaginary. Starting from a neutral flag—free of ideological, political, or social connotations—the audience is invited to reflect on the meaning of this object, witnessing its constant transformation throughout the performance. The audience is part of this shared experience, invited to be moved physically and sensorially, participating in this unique festivity of life and death.
